FAQ

What Vaccinations Does My Dog Need? Vaccination Requirements: All dogs must be fully vaccinated against parvovirus, canine distemper, adenovirus, canine parainfluenza, leptospirosis, and kennel cough (infectious bronchitis). Please check your dog’s vaccination card for the following stickers: •DHP or DHPPi – Valid for 36 months •Lepto 2 or 4 – Valid for 12 months •KC or Bronchishield (kennel cough) – Valid for 12 months and must be administered at least 14 days before boarding. You must bring your dog’s vaccination card with you. No dogs will be admitted without proof of valid vaccinations.

Do You Accept Titre Testing? We accept a titre test in place of the DHP vaccine, provided it has a valid expiry date and is signed by a vet. However, your dog must still be vaccinated against Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough as outlined above.

Can You Administer My Dog's Medication? We can administer tablets, drops, creams, or wipes as needed. However, we are unable to give injections. All medication must be provided in its original packaging, with the prescription label clearly showing the dosage. Please ensure all medications are listed on the enrolment form.

What Time Is Drop Off / Collection? Appointment times will be given.

What Do I Need To Bring With Me? Things to bring with you: 1. Vaccination certificate - YOUR DOG WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT IT! 2. A completed enrolment form (download from our booking page). If your dog has stayed with us before, we will have an enrolment form ready for you to sign. 3. Your dog with a collar and lead. 4. Any medications your dog requires. 5. Food for their entire stay (bowls not needed). 6. Their bed, blanket or favourite toy (optional). No bean bags please.

Can I Visit The Kennels? Meet and greets are available by appointment only on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

What Are Your House Rules? As a small, home-like kennel, we have a few house rules to ensure that all dogs in our care are happy and comfortable: •Calm behavior: All dogs must remain quiet and settled while in their kennels. •Interaction: We need to be able to handle, play with, and interact freely with your dog. •Lead-friendly: Your dog must be comfortable with having a collar and lead attached and be easy to walk on a lead. •Health & care: We need to ensure your dog is eating well and able to take any required medication.

How Much Exercise Will My Dog Get? Exercise routines are customised for each dog, considering their age, size, fitness level, and the weather. Typically, exercise sessions take place off-lead in one of our secure, fenced fields, where sociable dogs can enjoy playtime with others (Buddy Time). If preferred, we can exercise your dog individually, keep them on-lead, or limit their play to our smaller playground area.

Will My Dog Mix With Other Dogs? Whenever possible, your dog will have the chance to run and play with other dogs during exercise time. Before any off-lead play, all dogs will undergo an on-lead assessment to ensure compatibility. We group dogs by size and temperament to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable. If your dog isn’t sociable, they’ll still get to enjoy off-lead time in our fields on their own for the same duration.

Do I Need To Pay A Deposit When Booking? We ask for a £75 deposit when booking. Deposits are non-refundable or transferable. Any cancellations less than 7 days prior to the booked arrival date will be liable for the full remaining balance.

ABOUT
OUR KENNELS

Nestled in the charming Lancashire hills, our establishment welcomes guests from Darwen, Bolton, Blackburn, Preston, and beyond.

We focus on quality over quantity, ensuring each guest receives the highest level of care and attention. Our rooms are newly designed, cosy, and comfortably warm, thanks to central heating throughout. Every room features plush bedding that’s refreshed daily and has its own spacious, fully enclosed run. These areas are protected from the elements, monitored by CCTV, and equipped with calming music to help your pet feel relaxed.

Your pet will enjoy a minimum of 2-3 exercise sessions each day in one of our secure playing fields, where they can play off-lead individually. Additionally, with your consent, we offer “Buddy Time,” allowing your pet to socialise with compatible dogs. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and loving holiday experience for your pet, complete with plenty of care, attention, and endless cuddles.
